90 Day Review #1

Got this idea from Clark Kegley. You can search his channel and customize your own journaling systems.

This review covers April - June 2025. I've been excited to do this for about a week.

My 3+ biggest wins in the last 90 days?

  1. I vibe coded two web apps for work. My colleagues found them to be an upgrade from my earlier attempts and they're using them to make their work efficient. These are my two small projects that you can find in my Works page.

  2. Celebrated our anniversary in Palawan. It took months of planning and I have nothing but fun memories with AK.

  3. At 50% on building that emergency fund.

  4. Finished reading How to Win Friends and Influence People and Mastering Your Emotions. I told myself that I'll read one book per week in a reading project that lasts six weeks. Can't believe it got my momentum going.

  5. I started a blog. Yes. This blog! And it's been 3 months. It's a win because I never lasted this long on my earlier attempts to blogging.

My 3 biggest lessons in the last 90 days?

  1. Lending money to co-workers. I took out a significant amount of money from my EF. Co-worker approached me with a family problem, she promised she would return the money the following day. It's been over a month and she was forced to resign from work due to some other issues relating her job performance. I'm now certain that I may not get back the whole amount I lent. I'm focusing on spending less to double down on saving, no credit card use for the next few months.

  2. I started (again) with The Odin Project at the start of April. It's been 3 months and I only managed to finish 50% of the Foundations course. I've taken this course for granted because it's free. There's not enough motivation for me to build discipline. So I decided to leverage on the sunken cost fallacy with Boot.dev.

  3. Pen and paper gives me the most focus on journaling. I find it an achievement to fill up a notebook. Being able to read my entries in a physical material makes me proud to say that I'm not that tech-dependent (tekenalodya!). I thought having a physical notebook is just a waste of space. But why would it be a waste of space when you (or loved ones after I've passed on) can revisit them later for a glimpse of the past?

My 3+ next goals for the next 90 days?

  1. Build my emergency fund to 75% (6 months worth of expenses)
  2. Continue with Boot.dev and build projects
  3. Fix my social media accounts for professional use: LinkedIn
  4. Canvass for gold wedding rings
