Hello there! Welcome to my personal corner of the world wide web.
On this page is where I keep some of my recent posts, what I’m doing NOW, what this blog is about, the person behind it, and the overall directory of this website.

What I'm doing NOW
What's this?
An up-to-date list of what I'm doing these days and what I’d tell a friend I haven't seen in a while. Inspired by nownownow.com.
This section was updated from my apartment in Antipolo, Rizal.
I’ve fully recovered from my injuries
I crashed my motorcycle last Mar 1, nobody else was hurt. Thank God!
Resigned from work (looking for opportunities)
My wife and I took my accident as a sign to take a step back from retail and explore other options.
I am considering teaching in university. Although teaching is not enough to make bank, it’s a good stepping stone to have a variety of networks.
Living with the in-laws
Technically, they’re living with me.
On Mar 3, my wife’s grandmother was booked a flight home from Canada by her daughters. There’s a lot of personal details here but I’m going to cut it short and say that she’s getting older and has no relative to look after her overseas.
While my in-laws are awaiting their fully-constructed home in Lipa, Batangas—they’re staying with me and my wife in our apartment in Antipolo. My wife’s relatives lent their 2015 Mitsubishi Adventure for travel needs of Mamu. With the soaring prices of diesel, I feel reluctant to even start the engine.
One observation with my in-laws at home is that they really know how to relax. I have to get out of the house if I want to be productive with my studying (and possible work).
On blogging
This blog is under major renovation as I re-evaluate the direction of my posts. I wrote about what happened to the 50+ posts I made since April 2025.
While I am proofreading all my previous posts, I’m in the process of converting (most) of my pages to a blog post. So that all links are searchable in the Posts page.
Certifications and projects
I’m polishing my CV and getting some certificates to show for the academe. Some institutions that look at your credentials first (for impressions, mostly).
About
...this blog
The two main themes here are:
- learning new things
- getting better everyday (even when things are going down bad)
Topics here vary—from health, tech, AI, life updates, spirituality, stories, to whatever I find interesting.
...the author
The person behind this blog is Michael Roxas. That's me.
I am a writer of spectacle prescriptions, blogs, prompts, and programs. Currently living in the city of Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. I received my optometry education from Centro Escolar University back in 2020. I got my license to practice later in 2022.
Somewhere in between those two years, I picked up programming. Writing everyday became a side-effect of that curiosity ever since and eventually—blogging.
