Michael’s Weblog

What's this?

An up-to-date list of what I'm doing these days and what I’d tell a friend I haven't seen in a while. Inspired by nownownow.com.

This post was updated on 07 Apr, 2026—from the place I used to work in Antipolo, Rizal.

Recovering from my injuries

I crashed my motorcycle last Mar 1, nobody else was hurt. Thank God!

I was on my way home going up to Antipolo when suddenly my front wheel lost traction. I survived with minor injuries. No fractures. No concussions. No TBI.

Big thanks to my wife, LSE, and Neil for helping me out.

I got out of that lucky. The police officer on the scene said that he was there the night before for a similar incident—another motorcyclist was going downhill when he crashed.

He did not survive.

Considering teaching

I have thought of teaching in universities for the next generations of optometrists. There is a lock of teaching staff nationwide. A number of interns and clinical instructors encouraged me to teach.

Already got in touch with some colleagues in CEU and NU (MOA).

On blogging

This blog is under major renovation as I re-evaluate the direction of my posts. I wrote about what happened to the 50+ posts I made since April 2025.

Certifications and projects

I’m polishing my CV and getting some certificates to show for the academe. Yes, there are some institutions that look at your credentials first (for impressions, mostly). I hope to get some ”free” certifications on Health Informatics and basic programming.
