Remembering a loved one through prayer
During the days in my childhood when I would be at my grandparents, Lolo would stand up from his chair reading his texts on politics, philosophy, and religion at 12:00 noon. (2000s version of doomscrolling).
He'd invite everybody in the room with him to say the Angelus. Afterwards, he'd greet everybody, "Good afternoon!" with a matching kiss and hug.
He'd repeat the same thing six hours later and greet everybody, "Good evening!" Again, with his love of affection.
This year, to honor his memory, I decided to set a daily reminder on Todoist to always pray the Angelus. But instead of greeting everybody else, I look at my Todoist and see the tasks that are needed to be done over the next six hours before the time of prayer.
