What’s an RSS?
RSS or “Really Simple Syndication” is a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized, computer-readable format.
Subscribing to RSS feeds can allow a user to keep track of many different websites in a single news aggregator, which constantly monitors sites for new content, rather than having notifications from each app.
In short, it’s more like an app that collects all the websites (or channels) you want to take notice of if there’s something new.
I’ve turned off most of my phone notifications. And I just check my RSS readers if the people I follow online has posted something—whether it’s an article or a video.
RSS Readers I use
- Feedly for iOS
- Feeder for Android
- Alcove or NetNewsWire for browsers
