Do I regret splurge spending?

Just got back from Palawan last week. Darling and I spent our anniversary there. We had planned this trip for six months. This is yet our most expensive celebration. We were there for five days.

We rented a car. We ate at places where meals cost ₱500 minimum--the hotel, beachfront restaurants, and ambient cafés.

The only activity we participated in with a group was island hopping in El Nido. The rest were just the two of us.

This wasn't our usual spending. Especially for consecutive days.

Towards the end of our trip she asked, "do you feel guilty spending this much?"

I replied, "we have a budget, don't we? I don't see we've gone beyond that despite our spending. If I had a budget and I expect a surplus, then that number is not really my budget."

I assured her that as long as we were within budget, there is no need to be guilty.

Happy Anniversary, mi Darling.
