Nope to Disney live action remakes

I joined in the Lilo & Stitch hype by actually watching the original movie last night. The nostalgia hearing Heme No Lilo and Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride (not the tech-enhanced covers) makes me want to book a vacation trip to a beach here in the Philippines.

I'm writing to express my thoughts on these remakes.

Movies like Lilo & Stitch represent my childhood. And I intend to protect those memories by avoiding seeing any live action remakes.

I've already heard consistent disappointing comments on these remakes since Mulan. So it's delusion to think that the later movies will be better than the original or the previously premiered one.

What's funny is that the more movies Disney tried to remake, the more they give me reason to not be a viewer.

But I'm no zealot. Watching movies in the cinemas is my equivalent to sending my utmost respect to its producers.

I may be willing to set that aside if my future kids persuade to watch some remakes with them. Those moments could be one of their childhood core memories. Who knows? Maybe spending time with them watching these abominations could be one of my core memories as an adult.

So, I'm not going to prevent my future kids from making their own childhood memories just as I was given the opportunity to make mine.

But still, as much as I can, I refuse to watch any Disney live action remakes.
