LocalSend

When I was in college, AirDrop was such a convenient tool to use. Especially when some of our professors used iOS and MacOS. It was such a breeze for those who shared the same OS.

For those who used Android (me included), we used ShareIt. It wasn’t as fast as AirDrop, but it was enough to do file transfers just before classes ended. I continued using the app only towards the end of uni because the app was getting bad, really bad.

When I changed phones, it was a good thing that you could clone apps with built-in tools on Android. For the most of my transfers, I’d use Google Drive. I would upload and download on a different device. I just used a hard drive for larger files.

Recently, I discovered LocalSend and I couldn't give it enough praise. Had I used this in college, I would never think of using an iOS device, ever.

With LocalSend, you can make file transfers between devices of different OS’s. iOS to Android, MacOS to Windows, and vice versa. Pretty cool, no?

What’s funny about this discovery is that I had already bought an iPhone before discovering this. Oh well…

Did I mention that it's free, open-source, and available cross-platform? It's also blazingly fast!
