Max the budget
Just got back from Palawan last week. My fiancé and I spent our anniversary there. We had planned this trip for six months. This is yet our most expensive celebration. We were there for five days.
We rented a car. We ate at places where meals cost ₱500 minimum—the hotel, beachfront restaurants, and ambient cafés.
This wasn't our usual spending. Especially for consecutive days.
Towards the end of our trip, she asked, “Do you feel guilty spending this much?"
I replied, “If I had a budget and I expect a surplus, then that number is not really my budget."
I assured her that as long as we were within budget, there is no need to feel such guilt.
