Implementing POSSE
Most of the writers in the Bear Blog community have fled from social media apps to take ownership in their writing. Some have already deleted their social media accounts. Some have just become inactive, probably to be a means of contact to their loved ones.
Since 2020, I have become part of the latter group. Personally, I want to be in the former.
Social media apps I use:
- Facebook for checking business establishments
- Instagram
stalkingseeing how friends are doing - Threads for political events, it's the new Twitter for me. Since the X has become oversaturated with AI posts.
- TikTok for seeing what AK sends me when she's bored.
- X for following the Ruby and Rails community, but I might be doing that just with Reddit soon.
- Reddit (a more sophisticated group of Filipinos, plus big communities in PH have active moderators—less toxcity)
I have restored my LinkedIn after carelessly deleting it during my commute.
Quick story: My brother messaged me while I was on the transit to update my LinkedIn profile. He sent me a link of my outdated profile. Apparently, I made an account in 2018 and completely forgot about it. Since I was on the transit, I couldn't give it my full attention because I had to relocated my position after every stop. But I was determined to delete my duplicate account while I was on the train. In the end, I have deleted both of my accounts.
Since the deletion of my Facebook friends in 2020, I have not posted on any of these platforms. I do share a reel or two on Instagram Stories. If you wish to connect with me, you may do so through LinkedIn or just send an email.
Since my registration with Bear Blog in April this year, I haven't made any POSSE activity.
So let this be the first one.
