Zero inbox
I have collected a number of google accounts since 2014. I had a separate gmail for school, work, personal use, events, and more.
With all of these accounts, it has been difficult for me to keep track on all of them. Each account has collected over a thousand messages!
I decided to just use two email accounts. One main, which email was appropriate for both personal and work purposes. The other email collects spam and other newsletters in case I got curious about a particular author. I realized that there's a workaround for this via RSS.
For the main account, I have deleted (and unsubscribed to) all emails.
Ever since, I do my best to keep my primary inbox empty.
I read all emails on that account.
If the email is worth keeping, I'll transfer it to another folder. Everything is categorized accordingly: online receipts, real people, work, code, etc. Otherwise, it's deleted.
The main account also has an alias email address from DuckDuckGo,
so my email is: {email}@duck.com
.
In some cases that I need to see a response in my main email; I just use the aliased email instead (good for filling out online forms).
